Couldn’t agree more. Yes, I’m ranked on the first page of google for create a website and get over 13,000 visits per day from thousands of other keywords related to web design. I do this full time so it’s worked out pretty well for me I’d say. My site is also old (7 years) so having an older, authority site also helps.
Everyone has an opinion about what is right and what is wrong with SEO, but the fact is…Show Me The Money!!! show what you’ve done that allow you to become and expert…Are you in the top ten for a competitive keyword? and if you really want to know how competitive your keyword is, put it in brackets “internet marketing” 40,100,000 and without brackets 140,000,000 this shows what your true competition is….
Meta keywords are really not important. Google ignores these nowadays.
Also, 80 characters in the title and h1 sounds a little to much for me. I would say about half of those, and the keyword(s) should be used early in the tag.
The TITLE and the TEXT are the most important parts in SEO. Also, you should have the keyword in BOLD, which indicates its importancy. This makes Google think this word is important, and you’ll get a higher rank.
SEO is very easy.
Just use unique meta-keywords, have a title and an h1 with a length of about 80 letters, have a lot of good content and post your Link into Blogs etc.
By the way – Lisa, that’s important for you, too – use alt-attributes in the anchor-tags!
I hope, that I could help anyone out there.
GL to everybody, with SEO.
I’m just working my way through all your videos and all the info on your websites. Hoping to build my own website soon – thanks for all the great tips!
While a high ranking will certainly help a larger number of people see you and help drive more traffic to your site, it will not insure people actually buy your products or services. The ranking is what gets them there. You must do the rest by selling them on your ideas.
Unfortunately I’m not as young and good looking as you lisa… however I have been an SEM since ’94. You do a very good job of keeping this simple to understand… in ’09 all the manual stuff is going… its all software now.. ce la vie! Well research isn’t, but It’s not exactly exciting work Anyway keep up the good work.
THANK YOU LISA! Now I can spend my time doing what’s good for my website and customers, rather than worrying about the search engines! What a lot of TIME I just got back! Yea!!!!!!

I have pages in Google Analytics that have zero search engine hits let alone adsense clicks. I feel like it’s a waste of an article
